MARKY RAMONE'S BLITZKRIEG IN CURITIBA !!!!

Marky Ramone, former drummer for the band Ramones, performed in Curitiba, Brazil on April 1st, 2025.

The show took place at Tork N' Roll, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Hard Rock Cafe Curitiba.

What happened?

Marky Ramone was honored by the City Council of Curitiba with "Congratulation And Applause". The tribute recognized the musician's contribution to punk rock and his relationship with Curitiba.

The show was part of the Blitzkrieg 2025 Tour, which celebrates the legacy of the Ramones.

Marky Ramone joined the legendary Ramones in 1978 and left his mark on the albums "Road to Ruin" (1978) and "End of the Century" (1980). After the band ended its activities in 1996, he remained active, keeping the punk spirit alive with several projects, including Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. The tribute took place shortly before Marky Ramone's amazing show at Tork N' Roll. On stage, the crowd cheered to Ramones classics such as "Blitzkrieg Bop", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Pet Sematary" and "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker".

Curitiba holds a special place in Marky Ramone's career, having been the stage for unforgettable concerts, such as the one at Pedreira Paulo Leminski in 1994. The City Council's initiative was designed to demonstrate the strong connection between the musician and the city. According to the unanimously approved congratulatory request, "Marky has a strong connection with Curitiba, one of the cities in Brazil where he has performed the most. He has spoken openly about the affection he has for the local audience, who have always received his concerts with great enthusiasm."

MESSER CHUPS at PSYCHO CARNIVAL 2025 in Brazil!

 

For the first time in Brazil‼ The Russian band MESSER CHUPS performed at PSYCO CARNIVAL 2025. The biggest psychobilly festival in Latin America‼ @jokerspub Curitiba, Paraná. Sunday, March 2nd. 

MESSER CHUPS is a surf rock band from Saint Petersburg, Russia. The group was formed in 1998 by composer and guitarist Oleg Fomchenkov (aka Oleg Gitarkin). The current members are: Oleg “Guitaracula” Fomchenkov - guitar, Svetlana “Zombierella” Nagaeva - bass, vocals and Mattia Caterpillar Bertolassi - drums. 

Messer Chups combines surf rock and traditional Russian music, and uses samples from historical recordings, lounge music and old film soundtracks. Their live shows feature screenings of old horror and science fiction films. 

Guitarist Gitarkin has cited influences from Link Wray and The Ventures.

🎸 DREAM GUITAR ALERT! 😍 Just got the most incredible custom tribute piece from the amazing @trinfinity66, and I'm over the moon! 🌙 This sunburst beauty is a heartfelt homage to my dad, Don Wilson (co-founder of The Ventures) and his iconic 1967 Fender Jazzmaster that was the soundtrack to my childhood 🎵 While his original axe is now inspiring visitors at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville (how cool is that?! 🤩), I wanted something special of my own to keep his legacy alive. ❤️ Shoutout to the incredible @immortalaxes (Lisa S. Johnson), who not only captured Dad's original guitar in her stunning book "108 ROCK STAR GUITARS" 📸, but also pointed me to our amazing mutual friend Stacey Blades (guitarist @crashingwayward), who knew EXACTLY who could help! Enter Vegas's best luthier - Andrew Dominguez! 🪄 This maestro crafted the PERFECT tribute guitar, complete with @greenville_pickups that bring that classic Ventures sound into 2025! 🔥 There is also a metal plate on the back featuring my all-time favorite image of Dad with the Jazzmaster.
