ORIGIN OF BUMBLE BEE SONG
It is a classical song written by the Russian composer NIKOLAI RIMSKY-KORSAKOV (1844-1908), for his opera "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" in 1899-1900, with the name "FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLE BEE", where a character becomes bee and simulates the flight.
In 1946, FREDDY MARTIN AND HIS ORCHESTRA plays his version with JACK FINA at the piano, under the name "BUMBLE BOOGIE"
In 1961, B. BUMBLE & THE STINGERS made the Rock & Roll version from "BUMBLE BOOGIE" and reached 21st on the USA charts. And 1st in the UK in 1962.
In 1962, THE VENTURES made its version for guitar with the exceptional 16-bit picking and tremolo by Nokie Edwards, using the Mosrite guitar under the name "BUMBLE BEE TWIST".
