The song is one of the most beautiful compositions of The Ventures (Wilson / Bogle / Edwards / Taylor) with production by Dick Glasser and was released by Liberty Records on the B side of the 45rpm Single Diamond Head / Lonely Girl and LP "The Ventures Knock Me Out!" in February 1965. Also for the Sunset Label the LP "Runnin 'Strong" in 1966 with the name "Lonely Karen".
This and many other songs played virtuously by Nokie Edwards with his characteristic fingerstyle strumming using a flat pick with his thumb and index finger and strumming with his middle finger. Leading guitarists today both Nokie and Gerry McGee use the thumb thumb finger to play.
You can also enjoy the magnificent beat of the drums with the late Mel Taylor.
Also check out the cover of "fingstyle" and a variant of the group The Exotics that was recorded on one of the 23 tracks on the American and British Groups tribute CD to The Ventures in 1999 for the celebration of the Group's 40th anniversary.
